Rouse counsel as

on the doors of the blessed,
when God still spoke in parables and promises.
Teach us Native American healing rituals--
how to perfume the fire
with peyote and sage
and read their messages flickering
upon the darkness.
While wildfires still rage
in the asbestos debris
and fuel our malice,
Let us bow beneath your breeze.
Weıve seen Enola Gayıs skirt mushroom
and blanch the wet brae.
Proffer celestial wisdom
to temper our unseasoned rage.
