The Book of Revelation Teaches Reincarnation
Part II

Revelation 20:11-12 NIV The book of Revelation also speaks of reincarnation in the final chapters. Once again, it is necessary to allow the Bible to interpret itself. In this case, key prophecies from the Old Testament clarify key propheices in the book of Revelation. Before these parallel accounts are examined in detail, some important background information must be given. Because key doctrines have been lost to Christianity for thousands of years, how and why they have been lost must first be explained before their meaning becomes clear. This article is focused on the lost doctrine of reincarnation and how it helps to explain important prophecies in the Old and New Testament, specifically those at the end of the book of Revelation. The other lost doctrines and how they relate to reincarnation will be explored further in other articles. In this article, unless otherwise noted, all scripture is quoted from the NIV.

Part II
The Two Resurrections

Satan has gone to great lengths to deceive the world about who mankind really is and what mankind's ultimate destiny is.

Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. KJV

A major part of the deception has been to blind the world to the plan God has for saving most of mankind (almost all). One of the ways Satan has blinded the world to truth is by changing the focus from the message of Yeshua (Jesus) to the focusing on Yeshua. Any Christian church can tell you Christ came to save the world but few can actually articulate how it is done. A key reason is because the doctrine of reincarnation has been all but obliterated from Christianity. To read the history of how this was done read: Christian Reincarnation: The Long Forgotten Doctrine

Now is not the Day of Salvation for the Majority of Mankind

Most Christians believe that the way Christ saves mankind is fairly simple. You believe on Christ, allow his sacrifice to pay for their sins and you go to heaven. If you don't you go to hell. However, the plan of God is a little more involved than that because the plan of God is a plan to save all of mankind. A simple question illuminates the flaw in this simple version of how Christ saves mankind. How do the people who lived and died before Christ was even born become saved?

To use technical language there is a procedure one must follow to be saved by Christ. It is documented in Acts 2.

Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off--for all whom the Lord our God will call."

How do those who lived and died before Christ was even born repent and be babtised? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. (Mark 12:27)" The Mormon church believes that the solution is for the living to be baptised for the dead. The obvious flaw in this solution is that the living can't repent for the dead. Mainstream Christianity can't solve this apparent paradox because mainstream Christianity does not recognise that most are not called to Salvation now. This explains the meaning behind the following scriptures.

Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen. KJV If many are called and few are chosen, why?

1 Corinthians 1:25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength. 26 Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things -- and the things that are not -- to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him.

It appears that God in his wisdom has decided that the majority of mankind is not called to salvation. So, not only are the individuals who lived and died before Christ have no apparent way to be saved, but the majority of mankind since Christ do not either. However, there was a reason. Christ explained it this way.

Mark 4:10 When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables. 11 He told them, "The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables 12 so that,
" 'they may be ever seeing but never perceiving,
and ever hearing but never understanding;
otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!' "

It turns out this was the plan from the beginning. Christ was quoting Isaiah 6:9-10. In addition to prophecies concerning his birth and later sacrificial death, it was prophecied that the majority of mankind would not understand the true plan of God and how all of mankind was to be saved until the end time. It appears foolishness to men to have the situation where 1) Only by Christ's name and sacrifice can we achieve eternal life but all those that lived before Christ appear doomed for they can't repent and be babtized. 2) God is only calling the foolish of the world and is not calling all to salvation today. This is why Jesus spoke in parables. The reason why is both simple and brilliant. God knew that Satan would deceive the whole world (had already deceived the whole world). He also knew that being called while Satan was god of this world would make it difficult, almost impossible to successfully overcome sin.

2 Corinthians 4: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

That is why the plan of God is twofold. 1) To take Satan out of the picture during the 1,000 year reign of Christ. 2) Allow all of mankind, during the 1,000 year reign of Christ to reincarnate and have, for the first time ever, have the opportunity to know the truth. KJV

Now the prophecies of Revelation can be examined in the light of other prophecies to make it clear how God intends to make it possible for all of mankind, regardless of when they were born, to have the opportunity to finally be saved by the only name in heaven that can save them.

Revelation 20

The Thousand Years

1 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time. 4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

Revelation 20
Satan's Doom

7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth--Gog and Magog--to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. 9 They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

The Dead Are Judged

11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

The books refer to the records about the lives the souls had experienced as they incarnated over and over. One of the common misconceptions about the second resurrection is that the resurrection is a physical resurrection. Its true the first resurecction is a spiritual resurrection (The Saints who reign with Christ) This is why Christ explained to Nicodemus that one must be born iof the spirit to achieve eternal life. However, the second resurrection actually occurs in a non-physical location. In fact neither resurrection is a physical one. The Saints in the first resurrection receive spiritual, imperishable, immortal bodies. Paul makes this plain in:

1 Corinthians 15: 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed-- 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.

Please note the second resurection isn't a physical resurrection either but is a time when the souls (while still dead are judged):

The resurrection to judgement will not be held on earth nor will it be in heaven, Here is how the KJV renders the same verses: "And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne,..."

The description of heaven and earth fleeing is symbolic language for the judgement during the second resurrection occuring in a place of limbo. Its obvious what "NO" means but what was the original meaning of the word place in the Greek? The phrase "place" means: (As described by Strong's Concordance)

5117 topos {top'-os}
apparently a primary word; TDNT - 8:187,1184; n m

AV - place 80, room 5, quarter 2, licence 1, coast 1, where 1,
plain + 3977 1, rock + 5138 1; 92

1) place, any portion or space marked off, as it were from
surrounding space
1a) an inhabited place, as a city, village, district
1b) a place (passage) in a book
2) metaph.
2a) the condition or station held by one in any company or assembly
2b) opportunity, power, occasion for acting

The best way to describe "no place" is purgatory. Limbo, if you please. You are in limbo while your destiny is being decided by God. This judgement is based on the records (the books). Once your judgement is set you will either be put in the lake of fire or you will be allowed to participate (via a reincarnation into a baby body) in the New Heaven and New Earth.

It might not be obvious that Revelation 21, which describes the Utopian place that the New Earth is destined to become will be the home of a physical mankind. This is where another prophecy, which describes a New Heaven and New Earth, brings light to the subject. The reward for those found written in the book of life is participation in the New Heavens and New Earth as described in Rev. Chapter 21. is also prophecied and described in Isaiah 65.

Isaiah 65:17-25
New Heavens and a New Earth
17 "Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. 18 But be glad and rejoice forever in what I will create, for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight and its people a joy. 19 I will rejoice over Jerusalem and take delight in my people; the sound of weeping and of crying will be heard in it no more. 20 "Never again will there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not live out his years; he who dies at a hundred will be thought a mere youth; he who fails to reach a hundred will be considered accursed. 21 They will build houses and dwell in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit. 22 No longer will they build houses and others live in them, or plant and others eat. For as the days of a tree, so will be the days of my people; my chosen ones will long enjoy the works of their hands. 23 They will not toil in vain or bear children doomed to misfortune; for they will be a people blessed by the LORD , they and their descendants with them. 24 Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear. 25 The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox, but dust will be the serpent's food. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain," says the LORD.

It is obvious that both of these prophecies, one in the Old Testament and one in the New Testament< are speaking of the same thing. In the future there will be a New Heaven and New Earth. Both the prophecies of Isaiah and the book of Revelation are speaking of the same future time. Those in the resurrection to judgement, who are not thrown into the lake of fire, are allowed to incarnate as babies and live as long as trees in the Utopian New Earth.

ISAIAH 65 makes it plain that the participants will be living physical lives in the New Earth.

20 "Never again will there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not live out his years; he who dies at a hundred will be thought a mere youth; he who fails to reach a hundred will be considered accursed.

You can't have infants without babies being born. The babies (infant bodies) that will be born on the New Earth will be animated by souls that were not thrown into the lake of fire. Souls that passed the test are the only ones available to reincarnate on the New Earth. All the bad souls are in HELL (LAKE of FIRE).

ISAIAH 65:22 ... For as the days of a tree, so will be the days of my people;

Trees live a very long time, some of them over 2,000 years.

One of the reasons this truth has been veiled for so long is the universal misinterpretation of ISAIAH 65 referring to the 1,000 year reign of Christ. It is not a prophecy about that period of time but the utopian society that CAN ONLY BE ACHIEVED ONCE SATAN AND ALL THE EVIL SOULS HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THE SCENE FOREVER!

The inability of most Christians to see the plain meaning is because SATAN has gone to great lengths to deceive the Christian world into believing that REINCARNATION is a false doctrine.

Without reincarnation, none of Revelation 20 makes sense.

Note: At the end of the 1,000 year reign of Christ, Satan is released to deceive the world again. How can that be predicted with such certainty? BECAUSE GOD KNOWS THAT AT THE END OF THE PERIOD, THAT SOULS WHO HAVE A HISTORY OF FOLLOWING SATAN WILL BE REINCARNATED. THEIR KARMA IS SO BAD THEY DON'T GET TO REINCARNATE DURING THE UTOPIAN PORTION OF CHRIST'S REIGN. Instead, they are allowed to reincarnate at a time that fits their current spiritual condition.

There are some Christian sects that teach that the way God saves all of mankind is that they get to live for 100 years during the second resurrection and during that 100 year period they can chose to accept Christ as their savior. Scripture does not support that scenario. The book of Revelation plainly says that the dead are judged, not the living. It also states that no place was found for them. If they were living on Earth and getting their chance to be saved that way then obviously a place would be found for them. It could be argued that the book plainly says that the dead do not live again until after the thosand years are ended. read it again, it does not say the live during the second resurrection. They only live again if they are found worthy during the day of judgemnt, otherwise they experience the second death!

Because Satan has successfully blinded the world to the plan of God and how reincarnation is part of that plan, most do not realize that God really means it when he says he desires is that all men be saved.

1 Timothy 2:3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus

If one was to challenge the twofold plan of God as it has been presented, it would be difficult to argue against the part where Satan is removed for 1,000 years as this part is very plain. However, the part of the plan where souls reincarnate during the 1,000 year reign of Christ can easily be challenged. Verse 5 of Revelation 20 states that the dead did not come to life until after the 1,000 years were over. If they do not come to life until the 1,000 years is over, how can it be stated that they reincarnate, possibly more than once during the 1,000 year reign of Christ? This is an excellent challenge to the second part of the plan. If John had written the book of Revelation in English then it would be obvious that souls can not be reincarnating during the millennial reign of Christ. However, it wasn't written in English, it was written in Greek and later translated to English. In verse 4 of Revelation 20 where its speaks of the saints that "they came to life" and reigned with Christ the original Greek word that is translated "Came to life" is not the same Greek word that is translated "come to life" in verse 5 which is referring to everyone not in the First Resurrection. Rendered in English, both phrases appear identical. Upon examination of the original Greek, a completely different meaning is made clear. The original Greek word in Verse 4 is a verb zao {dzah'-o}. The Theological Dictionary of the New Testament defines this Greek word as follows.

zao {dzah'-o}

Word Origin:
a primary verb

Verb Usage in the KJV:
live 117, be alive 9, alive 6, quick 4, lively 3, not tr 1, misc 2, vr live 1 Total: 143

Definition:
to live, breathe, be among the living (not lifeless, not dead)
to enjoy real life
to have true life and worthy of the name
active, blessed, endless in the kingdom of God
to live i.e. pass life, in the manner of the living and acting
of mortals or character
living water, having vital power in itself and exerting the same upon the soul
metaph. to be in full vigour
to be fresh, strong, efficient,
as adj. active, powerful, efficacious

The original Greek has the Saints coming to a truly blessed, active, real life that is endless in the Kingdom of God. In other words, they don't just come to life, they achieve eternal life. This is consistent with 1 Corinthians 15 where Paul states that at the Return of Christ the Saints take on Immortality. So what is the Greek word that is used in verse 5 of Revelation 20? In Greek it is anazao {an-ad-zah'-o}. This word has the same root as the Greek word zoa but it also has as it's root an adverb ana meaning in the midst of. When combined with zoa the meaning is changed. The Theological Dictionary of the New Testament defines this Greek word as follows.

anazao {an-ad-zah'-o}

Word Origin:
from (301,ana) and (2198,zoa)

Part of Speech:

Verb Usage in the KJV:
be alive again 2, revive 2, live again 1
Total: 5

Definition:
live again, recover life
to be restored to a correct life
of one who returns to a better moral state
to revive, regain strength and vigour

Please note the important distinction between these two words. Even though they are translated into identical phrases in English, their original meaning is quite different. Let see the differnce in their meaning when English phrases consistent with their original Greek is used instead of identical English that masks the meaning.

...And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They achieved Eternal Life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 (The rest of the dead were not restored to their proper moral state until the thousand years were ended.)...

Now the Plan of God as revealed to John on the Island of Patmos is shockingly clear. THE 1,000 YEAR REIGN OF CHRIST IS FOR THE PURPOSE OF HELPING THE REST OF MANKIND ACHIEVE SAINTHOOD! And the saints who preceded them will work with Christ to help them also. Please note what is recorded in Zecheriah.

Zechariah 2:10 "Shout and be glad, O Daughter of Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you," declares the Lord . 11 "Many nations will be joined with the Lord in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you. 12 The Lord will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land and will again choose Jerusalem. 13 Be still before the Lord , all mankind, because he has roused himself from his holy dwelling."

The assumption by many is that when it says "all mankind" that it is only talking about those alive at the time. No it means ALL MANKIND, and that can only happen via reincarnation.

As you can now see, The Book of Revelation really does talk about reincarnation and it is an essential part of how God will someday make it possible for almost all of mankind to be saved by Yeshua the Christ.
